Volley South Regional Association Announcement

We were super impressed by all the age group trialists across the region! The coaches have made their squad selections, which will be announced below.

Training Details for Southland-Based Age Groups:

To come.

Training Details for Queenstown-Based Age Groups:

All selected athletes will have 6 weeks of rep training on Wednesdays at the Queenstown Event Centre from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The first hour will involve assisting the coach with the primary school competition, helping cover court hire costs.

Parent/Carer/Player/Coach/Manager Meeting:

We will hold a representative meeting for all parents, carers, and players next week (date to be scheduled). An online option will be available for Queenstown and out-of-town families, while the rest will need to attend in person.

Training Schedule:

These squads will train leading up to Christmas, after which we will finalize teams for the Lower South Islands in Invercargill. Our region will compete at the Lower South Islands, hosted by Volley South in April 2025.

Future Plans:

We will explore how the teams train, commit, and fundraise from January to February to determine if we can take four teams to the VNZ IPC Championships in Wellington in June 2025. The U17 Girls Maroon and Gold teams may form one indoor team for IPC, with coaches and Head Coach Jo making the final decision by the end of February.

Our goal is to take four teams to the VNZ IPC in June 2025, and we’ll need parents and carers to help create a fundraising committee. While there's no guarantee, it’s our intent!

Thank you for your support, and congratulations to all selected players, as well as appointed coaches and managers for the 2025 Representative Season!
