·         Week 1: Wednesday, 11 September 2024 Courts 2 – 7 booked, draw set down as courts 2,6,7 booked 4-730pm 3,4,5 time booking 4-7pm

·         Week 2: Wednesday, 18 September 2024 (Travel teams in) Courts 2 – 7 booked, draw set down as court 2, 6, 7 – 4-730pm, courts 3,4,5 book 4-840pm.

·         Week 3: Wednesday, 25 September 2024 Courts 2 – 7 booked 4-730pm

·         Week 4: Wednesday, 16 October 2024 Courts 3 – 7 (no court 2), courts 3,4,5,6,7 book 4-730pm

·         Week 5: Wednesday, 23 October 2024 (Travel teams in) Courts 2,3,4,5  booked 4-730pm COURTS 6 & 7 booked 4-9pm

·         Week 6: Wednesday, 30 October 2024 (Finals, travel teams in) Courts 2 – 7 booked 4-9pm

​​​​​​​Important Information for Team Entries

• Coaching Requirement: Each team must have a registered coach or person in charge, listed at registration, distinct from the sports coordinator. This will help facilitate direct communication.
• Venue Constraints: Due to venue limitations, entries are capped at 75 teams.
• Draw Requests: We prioritise draw requests for travel teams to accommodate their needs. Travel teams will play between 5:30 PM and 8:00 PM, traveling for games 3 out of 6 times, often playing 2-3 games in one visit. Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 social teams will be scheduled at the 4:00 PM, 4:45 PM, and 5:00 PM time slots when possible.

Winter Tournament Week Impact

To address complaints from parents and players about the staggered start in 2023, we are working on a compromise this season. Not all school teams will start in Week Two, ensuring a fair opportunity for all participants.

All social and junior teams will not be impacted by Winter Tournament Week, as they typically play in PE tops and coloured T-shirts. However, Division 1 Boys and Girls teams might be affected, and maybe some competitive y9/10 teams.

Notify Us

Please inform us as soon as possible if any of your teams cannot start in Week One. We will accommodate these teams by scheduling a double game later in the round-robin weeks.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Our goal is to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for all players, coaches, and supporters.

2024 Volley South Junior Championships Event Details

Beach Junior Championships:

• Location: Otepuni Community Hub, Forth Street, Invercargill
• Time: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM (if required)
• Date: Saturday, 19th October
• $40 per player

Indoor Junior Championships:

South Island Best of 3 sets (2 sets to 25, 1 set to 15), change ends when first team reaches 8 points.All sets rally points to two-point advantage, no cap

• Time: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (with possible overruns until 8:00 PM)
• Cost: $160 per team

2025 Volley South Regional Seeding Event - Mainlands and VNZ School Nationals

Entries Due: 30 October 2024.

Date: Saturday, 8 February 2025 (TBC), with potential overflow into Sunday. If entries are high and the format requires it, the event may extend into Sunday, 9 February 2025. Confirmation will be provided by 2 November 2024

Venue: ILT Stadium Southland

Team Entry Fee:

• $160.00 for a one-day tournament
• $320.00 for a two-day tournament

Please note that we do not have funding to subsidize the event in 2025, so there will be an entry fee.

Times:

• Doors open at 7:30 AM
• First game at 8:00 AM
• Finish time will depend on the number of entries, with final details provided after entries are received.

Format: We will await VNZ's final handbook for the 2025 playing format and will structure our seeding event to align with the divisions at the 2025 School Nationals for which we have available spots.

Note: As we do not hold any Division 1 or 2 spots, the event will most likely follow the VNZ Division 3+ format, including game times and other specifics, as per the 2024 guidelines (pictured below).

Term 3-4 2024 Entry Information: On each team's entry into the Term 3-4 school competition, where most teams prepare for VNZ events, we have asked whether that team is planning to participate in any VNZ events in 2025. This information will help us gauge numbers.

The term is scheduled to start between Monday, 27 January (at the earliest) and Friday, 7 February (at the latest), and will conclude on Friday, 11 April, spanning 92-108 half-days.

Public Holidays:

• Waitangi Day: Thursday, 6 February
• Term 1 Ends: Approximately 11 April
• Easter: 18 April

As of 18 August 2024, we have outlined the proposed Wednesday indoor dates for 2025. However, please note that these dates are tentative and subject to change. Final confirmation will depend on ILT Stadium Southland's booking system, which operates on an October 2024 release schedule. During this period, the stadium allocates available dates too Regional sports for the upcoming year. Once this process is complete, we will have definitive booking information for 2025.

Entries are due by 12 February, but they can also be submitted as early as 3 Nov 2024.
