Thank you for being interested in establishing a volleyball club within the Volley South region.
Volley South is the recognised Regional Sporting Organisation responsible for coordinating and delivering volleyball across the Southland and Queenstown Lakes region. All club applications are assessed against the Volley South Constitution, policies, and the long-term sustainability of volleyball in the region.

Before You Apply
You should only proceed if your proposed club:
- Your club aligns with the Volley South regional structure
- operates independently of any school
- has a clear purpose and governance structure
- is willing to comply with all Volley South policies and the Constitution
Information You Will Need to Complete the Application
Club Chair Details
You will need to provide:
- First and Last Name
- Email Address
- Date of Birth
- Ethnicity
- Full Residential Address
- Phone Number
Club Legal Information
Your club must be legally established (or in the process of becoming established). You will need:
- Legal name of the club (as registered with Incorporated Societies)
- Incorporated Societies Registration Number
- New Zealand Business Number (NZBN)
Required Documents
You must upload the following documents as part of your application:
- Club Constitution(must comply with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 and show re-registration if applicable)
- Certificate of Incorporation(proof of Incorporated Society registration)
- Bank Confirmation Letter(confirming the club bank account is in the club’s legal name and not linked to any personal accounts)
- Full Membership List(including full name, date of birth, address, email, phone number, gender, and ethnicity — for compliance purposes only)
Governance Requirements
You will also be required to confirm:
- Your nominated voting representative (one per club)
- That your club operates independently from any school structure
- That no governance conflicts exist with school staff
Declarations You Will Be Asked to Make
As part of the application, you will be required to confirm:
- Whether any committee member is employed or contracted by a school
- Whether anyone involved has delivered paid volleyball activity within the region
- Whether any individual has been subject to disciplinary action, mediation, or expulsion
- Whether the club intends to include school-aged participants
- That the club complies with Volley South governance requirements
Application Fee
A one-off application fee of $500 is required when submitting your application.
- If the application is declined, $400 will be refunded
- A $100 administration fee will be retained
- An annual affiliation fee will apply from Year Two onward
Important
- Submitting an application does not guarantee approval
- Clubs are not recognised until formal written approval and an affiliation certificate are issued
- The Volley South Executive Board makes all final decisions
